Department of Electrical Engineering, G.H.Raisoni Institute of Engineering & Technology, Wagholi, Pune has organised two days’ workshop on” Programmable Logic Controllers and SCADA” from 14 th to 16 th Sep 2015. En. Sudarshan Mantri from M/s Educate to Automate has conducted the program. The objective of this seminar was to provide knowledge about. This workshop for B.E. (Electrical) students for enhancement in their skill by acquiring knowledge of different Programmable Logical Controller types, its structure, Supervisory Control & Data Acquisition APPLICATION. They got hands on experience of PLC wiring as well PLC programming. They got knowledge of different industry applications using PLC based SCADA such as CAR PARKING, TRAFFIC CONTROL and VFD SPEED CONTROL etc.

On the occasion of Teachers’ Day, GHRIET, Pune organized a blood donation camp on 09 ‘Sep 2015. Shri.Ajit Tatiya , Trustee  of RGI , Pune Campus inaugurated the camp. Dr. R.D.Kharadkar , Principal ,GHRIET,Pune and Mr.Nagendra Singh  were the blood  donors who marked the inauguration. On the day of Teacher’s Day celebration, Dr. Devidas Joshi, Chairman, MOD-Tech College of Engineering,Pune was the chief guest. The review was given by Mr.Arvin Bhat & Mr.Vishal Jaiswal. Dr.R.D.Kharadkar has given the introduction speech and he spoke regarding research on genetics & epigenetics, wherein it has been proved that the values & knowledge given by teachers or environment act as external factor in modification of genes & passes on to generations. First Year Engineering Department, G.H.Raisoni Institute of Engineering & Technology, Wagholi, Pune has organised a guest lecture on “The Power of Habits" for First Year Engineering Department on 14 th Sep’2015. The objective of this lecture was to understand the concepts of Power of Habits. Mr. Hashad Patterkine, John Deere India Private Limited, Engineer Pune conducted Guest lecture on “The Power of Habits”. He had explained types of habits (good and bad) and their influence on our daily life. He also shared his views on how we can drain out our bad habits and motivate students to over their bad habits. Mr. Varun Salunke (Member ISKON Voice club, Alumni Mechanical Department GHRIET), he had introduced the speaker and gave a review of the event. Mr. Varun Salunke (Member ISKON Voice club), Mr. Ujjwal Sharma (TE Mechanical) and Mr. Swapnil Moghe (SE Mechanical) were the students involved in organising event .

Students of T.E. (Electrical)  and Diploma of G.H.Raisoni Institute of Engineering & Technology, Pune visited “Lonikand sub station , Pune ”, on 15th September 2015. The visit was organized to study Electrical Installation Maintenance and Testing. Nearly seventy nine students and sixteen students of Diploma had visited the substation.  This visit to a substation is compulsory for the students according to the syllabus set by the Savitribai Phule Pune University. This visit enables the students to understand various equipment used in a substation and their functioning or use. The visit to substation includes visit to the switch yard as well as the control room.

Students of T.E. (Civil) of G.H.Raisoni Institute of Engineering & Technology, Pune visited “ Bhatghar Dam, Bhor, Pune ”, on 3rd Sep ‘2015. The visit was organized to study of catchment area & drainage systems,C/s of dam, side slopes, pitching spillway & gate and penstock & study of   hydro-power station, canal system. Student took keen interest to seek the practical and theoretical knowledge on boilers. Nearly seventy students had visited along with five faculties.   Students of B.E(Civil) of G.H.Raisoni Institute of Engineering & Technology, Pune visited “Naidu Sewage Treatment Plant, Pune”, on 4th Sep ‘2015. The visit was organized for study of Screening, Aeration unit, Clafiers, Sedimentation unit and Gas collection Chamber. Student took keen interest to seek the practical and theoretical knowledge on boilers. Nearly fifty six students had visited along with four faculties.

  Research and Industry Institute Interaction Cell of G.H.Raisoni Institute of Engineering & Technology, Wagholi, Pune has organised a guest lecture on “ IPR & Patent Filing "for all the faculties on 14th Aug’2015. The objective of this lecture was to bring awareness and to guide the Faculty for IPR and Patent Filing understand the IPR and Patent rules. The Chief guest was Dr. A.D. Shaligram, Professor & Head, Electronics Dept. S.P.Pune University. He had delivered an awakening lecture on that how IP is protected in law by, for example, patents, copyright and trademarks, which enable people to earn recognition or financial benefit from what they invent or create.
