Discussion on “Career Aspirations of Young Engineers” was organized at G.H.Raisoni Institute of Engineering & Technology, Pune



       Discussion on “Career Aspirations of Young Engineers” was organized at G.H. Raisoni Institute of Engineering & Technology, Wagholi, Pune on 6th April’ 2013. This session was conducted by Prof. Anand Wagh from Zensar Technologies, Ms. Mukti Wagh (Sears Holding Inc.) & Mr. Kedar Nigavekar (Management Trainer).Total 21 students were shortlisted from different departments. The motto behind the session was to conduct a discussion and interview the “career aspiration of young Engineers”. Thus the questionnaire was based on define aspiration and then to express that what are the different perception in their mind about IT Companies. Secondly followed by expressing “Aspiration “ theme on a paper.
       The students were divided in two different groups. In the first group total 11 students have participated. Ms. Ankita Rai (S.E I.T) expressed that her parents expectation drove her to aspire to become an Engineer. Mr. Saurabh Chaubal (T.E ELECT) expressed that he wants serve country. Ms. Athira Aroon (B.E ELEX) stated that aspiration is to dream. Mr. Mayur P (T.E ELECT) claimed that his aspiration is to remove corruption. Riya Banerjee (S.E I.T) defined aspiration means desire. Likewise Ms. Nidhi Tiwari (T.E E&TC), Sunit Singh (T.E E&TC), Mr. Ankit K(T.E COMP) expressed that to become successful Engineer is their aspiration. Mr. Akshay Inamdar(T.E ELEX) quoted that he loves to work. As far as IT Companies impression was concerned students expressed that they heard more often about hectic schedule and work pressure is more.
       Second group also expressed their definition of “Aspiration” was somewhat similar but Mr. Parth A(S.E COMP) & Mr. Ajay K(T.E ELEX) told that aspiration changes and it was appreciated by Prof. Wagh. Ms. Khyati D (S.E COMP) said that aspiration is not a single dream and further she advised that an individual should not stop aspiring because he has a job in hand. Ms. Vaishakhee (T.E ELEX) proved that aspiration means an individual is crazy about attaining that goal same was supported by Ms. Dipti J (B.E ELEX). Mr. Shreyas Chopade (T.E ELEX) & Mr. Soni (T.E ELEC)  expressed that luxurious life style is common desire in teenagers and college going students. They had further told that with education it changes. Mr. Aman J (S.E COMP), Ms. Ashika Sinha(S.E. COMP) and Ms. Surbhi C (S.E COMP) expressed that innovative ideas related to computer world are their passion and they aspire to become technocrats.
