GHRIET, Pune has organized “BHUMI Road Safety Awareness Week”

GHRIET Pune has organized “Bhumi Daan Utsav” from on 18 th January to 24th January 2017 at GHRIET, Wagholi. The GHRIET students believe in the quote, “Carefulness costs you nothing. Carelessness may cost you your life,” as quoted by circa early 1900s. From 18 th January, the volunteer students and faculties have taken Road safety pledge. The volunteers are mostly from Second Year, Mechanical Department. Due to the whole hearted support of their Head of Department, Prof. Arun Thakare, the students are motivated to contribute a lot towards the campaign. Mr. Vishnu Sanap has helped to print all the Placards, which are very essential for the awareness program. Nearly 1.49 lakh people were killed in road accidents in India in 2015. On an average, 17 people were killed in road accidents each and every hour. There is one death every three minutes due to a road accident in India.
